Who We Are
Luna Nueva Casa is a beach oasis in the small fishing village and surf town of El Paredón, Guatemala. We thoughtfully create experiences that touch all five senses and inspire connection. Our vision is to foster a space for harmony, wellness, and balance.
Our Story
When sudden life changes opened the opportunity for Luna Nueva owner Tif Francis to fulfill a life-long dream, she sold most of her belongings, packed the car with what was left, and drove from Kansas to Guatemala to start a new adventure.
With 20 years of professional design work experience and a deep curiosity to explore new places, Tif wanted to create a space for people to gather and experience the Guatemalan culture she had fallen in love with while frequently visiting her daughter who lived there.
Tif and her daughter made her dream a reality, creating a beautiful three-bungalow space that provides guests from around the world a place to feel at home and connect with the local community and nature of El Paredón.

Tif
FOUNDER
Owner and host with the most, Tif, forever dreamt of living by the ocean (like sleeping with a sound wave machine residing in the Midwest for 20 years while dreaming) and creating a tranquil, homey space for others to gather. When you visit Luna Nueva Casa, you’ll feel the hospitality of Tif’s Southern roots, her interior design background, her lifetime passion for forming genuine connections with others, and her love for the people and culture of El Paredón.

Mely
HOUSEKEEPING
Before she was our housekeeping rockstar, Mely was a friend who helped us get to know El Paredón, where she was born and raised. She keeps Luna Nueva Casa at its best inside and out. She also loves to be in the kitchen and is quick to throw on an apron to assist our visiting chefs when we host special events.

Alejandro
GARDEN/POOL CAREGIVER
Alejandro brings a huge smile and boundless passion to everything he does. His love for nature shines through in his meticulous care of our garden and exceptional pool service. Originally from Buenos Aires, he now calls El Paredón home, where he’s a cherished member of our community. Alejandro also shares his talents by training local youth in his trade, further enriching our community.

Carlin
DESIGNER
The co-creator and design-builder who helped bring the Luna Nueva Casa vision to life is Tif’s daughter. Carlin first introduced Tif to her world in Guatemala, where she lived for nearly a decade. She was the boots on the ground and her artistic touches can be seen everywhere. Her creative work continues at Luna Nueva both physically and conceptually.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Luna Nueva Casa’s marketing and social media manager who loves to visit from her home base in Los Angeles as often as possible. Frankie is Tif’s youngest daughter and keeps all content and marketing needs in check. Thank goodness she’s as quick on the computer as she is with words!

UNOFFICIAL MASCOT
Luna Nueva Casa’s grounds protector and cuddle queen. While we don’t allow pets on the property, Luna will give you all the loving (and nap by your pool chair or hammock) until you return home to your fur babies.
