Walking/tuktuks
You can walk to most places in El Paredón or very inexpensively take a tuktuk.
Take a shuttle to neighboring towns
Private or group shuttles are available to Guatemala City, Antigua, and Lake Atitlán.

Must-haves
Flip-flops or slides (the black sand gets hot!), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and bug spray.
Respect clothing modesty
While El Paredón is a beach town, it is respectful to the locals here to wear a coverup or clothing over you swimsuit when walking around town. Note: it is not a nude beach.

Mangrove turtle tour & baby turtle ocean release
Turtle season is September - December. There is a sunrise turtle release on the beach at the Turtle Hatchery.
Book a Mangrove turtle tour year-round to see adult turtles and other local wildlife. El Paredón is one of three places in the world where you can see adult sea turtles year-round.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking
Book a paddle board or kayaking tour in the mangroves. It's a great experience while visiting El Paredón.
Local masseuse
Book a massage with a local masseuse/chiropractor.
Surf lessons
We have several local surf instructors that we LOVE that teach novice to advanced surfers.
Surfboard rentals
There are several local spots in town where you can rent boards during your stay.
